Seasoned Sticky Rice Balls
- 1/2 cup sticky rice, this is typically short grain but some medium grains will work.
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Put the rice and water in the rice cooker and let soak for 30 minutes.
- Cook the rice.
- When the rice is done stir it around and let it sit for 10 minutes and close the cooker.
- Make the sauce.
- Mix the sake, soy sauce, and sugar together.
- Pour the rice out in a bowl and drizzle the sauce on it.
- This will help hold it together as it cools.
- Form the rice into balls.
- (helps to dip your hands in water)
- Roll around in the seasoning or sprinkle it on.
- Can wrap with a strip of nori but I was too hungry this round!
