Vickys Tomato-Free 'Tomato' Sauce / Ketchup!
- 1000 grams carrots
- 30 grams lemon juice
- 25 grams water
- 200 grams apple juice
- 20 grams beetroot juice or puree
- 15 grams salt
- 7 grams onion powder
- Chop carrots into chunks and boil until soft
- Put them in a blender with all the other ingredients and puree
- Use as a pasta sauce, a pizza topping, lasagne or bolognaise sauce.
- To turn into ketchup add 2tsp cinnamon, 2tsp garlic powder, half tsp nutmeg, half tsp white pepper and a pinch of ground cloves!
