Chinese Spare Ribs Recipe
- 2 scallions, cut in 1 inch pcs
- 2 cloves garlic, mashed
- 2 teaspoon ketchup
- 2 teaspoon chili sauce
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. corn syrup
- 2 teaspoon cooking sherry
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1 pound spare ribs
- Boil spareribs in a large pot for 45 min.
- While ribs are parboiling, mix remaining ingredients in a large pan (marinade).
- Put boiled ribs into marinade and let marinate for 2 hrs, turning after 1 hour.
- Broil ribs on grill or possibly in oven, coating each side with honey.
- Watch ribs - as they begin to crisp, turn and baste again.
- When marinade begins to brown, the ribs are done.
- NOTE: If you don't want to parboil ribs first, bake them at 250 degrees for 40 min, 350 degrees for 20 min, and 400 degrees for 5 min.
- Serve with rice.
