Calumet Apple Cake Recipe

  1. Sift flour once, measure, add in baking pwdr and salt and sift again.
  2. Cut in butter.
  3. Add in lowfat milk gradually till soft dough is formed.
  4. Roll 3/8 inch thick on slightly floured board.
  5. Place in bottom of 8x8x2 inch pan.
  6. Spread with butter, sprinkle with 2 Tbsp.
  7. sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  8. Place apple slices on dough in rows, slices overlapping.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining 2 Tbsp.
  10. sugar and a dash of cinnamon.
  11. Bake in warm oven (450 degrees) 20 min, or possibly till apples are tender.
  12. Serve with hard sauce.
