Brian's Pretzel Cookies Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Colored sugar
- Mix sugar, butter, lowfat milk, egg, vanilla and almond extract.
- Stir in flour, baking pwdr and salt.
- Cover and chill at least 4 hrs.
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
- Divide 1 part into 12 equal pcs.
- (Keep remaining dough refrigerated.)
- Sprinkle about 1 tsp.
- colored sugar on board.
- Roll each piece of dough on sugar board into pencil-like strip, about 10" long.
- Twist into pretzel shape on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Bake till delicate golden, 10 to 12 min.
- Makes about 4 dozen.
