Breakfast Casserole With Wheat Bread Recipe
- 1 lb sausage
- 6 x Large eggs
- 2 c. 2% lowfat milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 2 slc whole wheat bread cut 1" cubes
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- Grease the bottom of a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown sausage till no pink is showing.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl beat together Large eggs, lowfat milk, salt and dry mustard.
- Put bread cubes on the bottom of baking dish and top with sausage and cheese.
- Pour egg mix on top, cover and chill overnight.
- The next morning: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Bake casserole for 45 min or possibly till Large eggs are set and cheese is browned.
- Let sit 5 min before slicing.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
