Regal Ham and Broccoli
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen broccoli spears, cooked and drained
- 14 cup margarine
- 12 cup onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon thyme, crushed
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 cups milk
- 4 cups cooked ham, cubed
- 8 ounces swiss cheese, sliced
- 12 cup buttered bread crumb
- Spoon rice into a buttered 3- quart casserole.
- Place broccoli spears on top of rice.
- Melt margarine in a saucepan.
- Add onion and thyme.
- Stir in flour and cook, stirring, until hot and bubbly.
- Bring milk to a boil and add all at once to the flour mixture.
- Cook stir until until thickened and smooth.
- Stir in ham.
- Pour over broccoli.
- Layer cheese on top.
- Sprinkle on breadcrumbs.
- Bake at 350F for 45 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
