Linda's Broccoli Salad
- 2 -3 heads broccoli, snipped, small flowerettes taste best
- 1 small red onion, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese
- 8 -10 slices bacon, cooked, ripped into small pieces
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 teaspoons white vinegar
- 14 cup sugar
- 1 cup low-fat mayonnaise or 1 cup fat-free mayonnaise
- 3 teaspoons white vinegar
- 3 (1 g) packets Splenda sugar substitute, a 3-4
- hormel real bacon bits
- If using bacon, cook bacon until crispy, then drain, and crumble.
- Cut broccoli heads with scissors into small flowerettes.
- Chop onions.
- Mix first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix the sauce (which ever one you choose to use)ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Add to broccoli mix, and mix well.
- Chill, and serve.
- Note: Sometimes I add sunflower seeds to this recipe, and other times I add a small can of black olives.
- You can also add raisins or craisins.
