French Bread

  1. Dissolve
  2. yeast
  3. in
  4. 1/2
  5. of
  6. the water plus 1 teaspoon sugar. In
  7. largetowl,
  8. dissolve sugar and salt in remaining water. Add
  9. Mazola
  10. and yeast.
  11. Mix.
  12. Add flour.
  13. Place dough in greased bowl
  14. and
  15. set in warm water.
  16. Work dough every 10 minutestor
  17. 5 consecutive
  18. times.
  19. Turntough onto floured board and
  20. divide into
  21. 2
  22. balls.
  23. Let rest 10 minutes.
  24. Roll each piece
  25. out
  26. and roll
  27. up as for jelly roll.
  28. Seal edges. Place on
  29. a greased cookie sheet and score diagonally 6 times. Let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake in 400u0b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Brush withtelted butter.

  31. makes 2 loaves and is delicious as garlic bread.
