Valentine Sugar Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- margarine, softened
- 1-1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Red decorators sugar (optional)
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
- Add egg and extracts.
- Stir inflour; mix well.
- Chill for several hours.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness; cut with a 2-1/2 or 3-inch heart shaped cookie cutter.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets; sprinkle with red sugar, if desired.
- Bake at 375F for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
