Bacon And Herb Rolls
- 1 package yeast
- 14 cup sugar
- 14 cup lukewarm water
- 1 cup milk
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon garlic salt
- 12 teaspoon celery salt
- 12 cup shortening
- 14 teaspoon thyme
- 14 teaspoon mace
- 14 teaspoon rosemary or 14 teaspoon oregano
- 2 eggs
- 3 14 cups flour
- 12 cup crumbled cooked bacon or 12 cup minced ham
- melted butter
- caraway seeds or poppy seed
- Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
- Scald milk.
- Add sugar, salt and shortening.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Add flour mixed with herbs.
- Beat well.
- Add eggs and softened yeast.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add bacon or ham.
- Cover.
- Let rise until bubbly.
- About 1 hour.
- Prepar small muffin pans by putting 1/2 teaspoon of melted butter and poppy or caraway seeds in bottom.
- When dough is light, stir down, fill muffin pans half full.
- Let rise until double in size.
- Bake in 425 oven until golden brown.
