Walnut Oatmeal Pie In Chocolate Nut Crust Recipe
- 18 chocolate wafer cookies, crushed (1 c.)
- 3/4 c. walnut meats, finely minced
- 1/4 c. butter
- Crust: Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix all crust ingredients together in medium bowl, just till blended.
- Turn into a 9 inch pie plate.
- Press firmly and proportionately over bottom and up sides.
- Bake 7-8 min till hard.
- Cold on rack 10- 15 min.
- Filling: Meanwhile whisk syrup, brown sugar, lowfat milk, butter, Large eggs and vanilla in a large bowl till well blended.
- Stir in remaining filling ingredients.
- Pour into crust.
- Bake 45-50 min till knife inserted in center comes out clean.
- If crust begins to brown too fast, cover edges with foil.
- Cold on wire rack.
- Just before serving, garnish with dollops of whipped topping and sprinkle with minced walnuts.
- Makes 12 servings.
