Chrissy's Irish Soda Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 325-350.
  2. Sift first 5 ingrediants together.
  3. Blend in margarine.
  4. Add raisins and caraway seeds.
  5. Add buttermilk to make a medium soft dough.
  6. Kneed or mix until spongy; dough will be wet.
  7. Divide into 2 greased and floured loaf pans.
  8. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes - knife inserted into center should come out dry.
  9. Optional - brush top with milk while cooling; will soften crust and make it easier to slice.
  10. Remove from pans while warm.
