Aunt Jean's Almond Bread Recipe
- 1 c. Sugar
- 3/4 c. Oil
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 3 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 c. Almonds sliced
- Preparation Time: 1:10This is a heavy dough!
- Cream sugar, oil, Large eggs, and vanilla.
- Sift and add in flour, baking pwdr.
- Stir in nuts.
- Put on a baking sheet in strips about 4 to 5" wide, the length of the baking sheet, and about 3/4" thick.
- Leave space between strips.
- Bake at 350 degrees about 20 min till hard, but not brown.
- Carefully transfer to a cutting board, and cut into 1" slices.
- Lay the slices, on their sides, on a cookie sheet.
- Toast slices in the oven, turning if necessary till brown (about 30 to 35 min).
- Watch carefully.
