Aunt Jean's Almond Bread Recipe

  1. Preparation Time: 1:10This is a heavy dough!
  2. Cream sugar, oil, Large eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Sift and add in flour, baking pwdr.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Put on a baking sheet in strips about 4 to 5" wide, the length of the baking sheet, and about 3/4" thick.
  6. Leave space between strips.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 min till hard, but not brown.
  8. Carefully transfer to a cutting board, and cut into 1" slices.
  9. Lay the slices, on their sides, on a cookie sheet.
  10. Toast slices in the oven, turning if necessary till brown (about 30 to 35 min).
  11. Watch carefully.
