Sig/*ari* cherry and bread bake
- 6 one day old bread rolls
- 1/4 liter milk
- 3 egg yolk
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 kg fresh cherries (black or red ) with stones
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp chopped almonds
- 3 egg white
- 1 stick butter
- Slice the roll and let them soak up in the heated milk,set aside and cool.When cooled add egg yolk ,sugar ,cinnamon,breadcrumbs and almonds,mix well.Add the cherries ,whisk the egg white until it peaks and lift gently under mixture.
- Grease a oven proof dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.Add mixture into dish sprinkle with sugar.Add a few bits of butter over top.Bake at 180C for about 3/4 quarters of an hour.
- Tell people that the cherries contain the stone,the do add to the flavour and make the dish juicier.
- If you are not happy to do so use without stones.
