Aunt Mamie's Goulash Cake Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour an 8" x 8" or possibly 9" x 9" baking pan, or possibly casserole.
  3. Thoroughly mix all ingredients.
  4. Pour into prepared pan and bake for approximately 25-30 min.
  5. Immediately cover with Icing (directions follow) and place under broiler for approximately 5 min.
  6. Watch closely so topping does not scorch.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cold.
  8. Serve hot with ice cream or possibly whipped cream, if preferred.
  9. Goulash Icing: Using a pastry cutter (or possibly food processor) thoroughly mix icing ingredients.
  10. Spread over the top of the warm cake.
  11. Place under the broiler for approximately 5 min.
