Apple Spice Cake Recipe
- 2 Tbsp. Margarine, softened, plus
- 1 x 1 Tbsp., chilled
- 1 x (divided use)
- 1/3 c. Sugar
- 2 x Egg whites
- 1/3 c. Skim lowfat milk
- 1/3 c. Applesauce
- 1 1/4 tsp Cinnamon (divided use)
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 c. , plus 3 Tbsp.,
- 1 x All purpose flour (divided 1 Use)
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 2 x Golden brown delicious or possibly granny
- 1 x Smith apples, peeled and cut
- 1 x Into 1/4 inch slices
- 3 Tbsp. Brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray and dust with flour.
- Cream 2 Tbsp.
- softened margarine and sugar at medium speed of an electric mixer till light and fluffy.
- Add in egg whites and beat at medium speed 2 min.
- Add in lowfat milk.
- Combine 1 1/3 c. flour and baking pwdr, and add in to creamed mix, stirring just till moistened.
- Spread into prepared pan and arrange apple slices in single layer in 3 rows,pressing gently into batter.
- Cake will be small.
- In small bowl, combine 3 Tbsp.
- flour, brown sugar, remaining cinnamon and chilled margarine.
- Mix till crumbly, and sprinkle over apples.
- Bake 45 min or possibly till brown.
- Make 6 to 8 servings.
