Hanky Pankies
- 1 lb. ground beef King Sooper's 1 lb For $3.99 thru 02/09
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. VELVEETA, cut up
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1 loaf cocktail rye bread
- Brown ground beef and Italian sausage in hot skillet; do not drain the fat.
- Add all remaining ingredients except bread.
- Cook until VELVEETA is melted, stirring frequently.
- Spoon onto bread slices.
- Place on cookie sheet; freeze.
- Place in zipper style plastic bags; keep frozen until ready to bake.
- Preheat oven to 350F .
- Place frozen hanky pankies on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
- These are always a hit for a large crowd and nice to keep on hand.
- Makes 44 appetizers.
