Simple Bolognese Sauce
- 1/4 cups Olive Oil
- 1 whole Small Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 pound Ground Chuck
- 1 can Large Can Of Tomato Sauce
- 1 can Diced Italian Tomatoes
- 1 can Tomato Paste
- 3 teaspoons Dried Basil
- 2 whole Bay Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- In a large skillet heat the olive oil.
- Add the onion and garlic and saute over medium heat until the onions become very soft, about 5 minutes.
- Raise heat to high and add the ground beef.
- Saute, stirring frequently and breaking up any large lumps and cook until meat is no longer pink, about 10 minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce, diced Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and bay leaves; simmer over low heat until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 1/2 an hour.
- This sauce is great with your favorite pasta or make it and use it in your lasagna!
