Halloween Hermits (Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies)
- 34 cup margarine, softened
- 1 14 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (I use fresh, but canned is also good)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon allspice
- 12 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 12 cup chopped walnuts (optional) or 12 cup pecans (optional)
- 12 cup raisins, I don't like raisins myself, so I don't put them in (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, eggs, pumpkin and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, allspice and cloves.
- Add dry misture to wet ingredients and mix.
- Stir in chocolate chips, and nuts/raisins if using.
- Drop rounded teaspoons full onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
