Greek Cookies Recipe
- 1 pound sweet butter">butter or possibly low fat, low cholesterol butter">butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 5 Large eggs or possibly egg substitute
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 ounce. of anizette (or possibly whiskey)
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 2 1/2 lbs. all-purpose flour
- In large bowl mix together flour and baking pwdr and set aside.
- Cream butter in electric mixer till soft.
- Blend sugar with butter, add in Large eggs one by one (or possibly egg whites and blend well).
- Add in anizette (or possibly whiskey) and vanilla, mix thoroughly.
- Take all these ingredients and pour into a flour mix and knead till dough can be rolled without breaking.
- Using butter on hands roll dough into different shapes (small amounts of dough to make the shapes).
- Place cookie on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Brush tops of cookies with egg and lowfat milk mix.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 min on top rack or possibly 5 to 20 min on middle rack.
- Makes 120 cookies.
