Date Nut Cake With Rum Sauce Recipe

  1. Cook sugar and water about 5 min.
  2. Remove from heat and add in rum.
  3. Beat Large eggs well.
  4. Add in flour, sugar, etc.
  5. and mix well.
  6. Add in nuts and dates.
  7. Pour into an angel food cake pan which is lined with brown paper which has been greased.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs over a pan of water (lower shelf).
  9. Drench with rum sauce.
  10. Serves: 12 to 15.
