Date Nut Cake With Rum Sauce Recipe
- 4 Large eggs, beaten
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 pound minced dates
- 4 c. minced nuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Cook sugar and water about 5 min.
- Remove from heat and add in rum.
- Beat Large eggs well.
- Add in flour, sugar, etc.
- and mix well.
- Add in nuts and dates.
- Pour into an angel food cake pan which is lined with brown paper which has been greased.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs over a pan of water (lower shelf).
- Drench with rum sauce.
- Serves: 12 to 15.
