Maris Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F.
  2. In an electric mixer, cream the butter and the sugars.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, and add to the butter mixture.
  5. Add the oatmeal, nuts, and coconut.
  6. Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, or until light brown.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. The cookies will be chewy.
  10. Its the coconut in these cookies that makes them really good!
