Easy Shallow-Fried Tofu with Mentsuyu

  1. Drain the tofu and cut into 4 portions.
  2. Add the mentsuyu and water to a pot, and turn on the heat.
  3. Coat the tofu with katakuriko.
  4. Add the oil to a frying pan, and shallow-fry the Step 2 tofu until it becomes golden brown (flip the tofu pieces halfway through).
  5. You just need to fry both sides.
  6. Place the tofu into a serving bowl, pour in the Step 1 mentsuyu, and sprinkle with green onion on top.
  7. This is a different version using eggplants.
  8. I added shallow-fried eggplants as well.
  9. This is another version with eggplants and green peppers.
