Easy Shallow-Fried Tofu with Mentsuyu
- 1 block Tofu (firm or silken)
- 1 Katakuriko
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 100 ml Mentsuyu (concentrate)
- 400 ml Water
- 1 Green onion (thinly sliced)
- Drain the tofu and cut into 4 portions.
- Add the mentsuyu and water to a pot, and turn on the heat.
- Coat the tofu with katakuriko.
- Add the oil to a frying pan, and shallow-fry the Step 2 tofu until it becomes golden brown (flip the tofu pieces halfway through).
- You just need to fry both sides.
- Place the tofu into a serving bowl, pour in the Step 1 mentsuyu, and sprinkle with green onion on top.
- This is a different version using eggplants.
- I added shallow-fried eggplants as well.
- This is another version with eggplants and green peppers.
