Creamy Onion And Potato Soup

  1. Melt margarine in Dutch oven over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth.
  2. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic.
  4. Cook 1 minute until onion is tender.
  5. Gradually add broth, stirring constantly.
  6. Add potatoes and next 3 ingredients.
  7. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  8. Stir occasionally.
  9. Stir in milk and heat thoroughly.
  10. Garnish, if desired.
