Banana Split Cake Recipe
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1 c. Buttermilk -- see note
- 1 box (18.25-ounce) Duncan Hines -- moist deluxe white c
- 1 1/2 c. Bananas -- mashed
- 1 Tbsp. Oil
- 3 x Egg whites -- whipped
- 1/4 c. Walnuts -- minced
- 1/2 c. Fat-free warm fudge topping
- 1/4 c. Walnuts -- minced
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Prepare a 9 x 13" pan with cooking spray and flour; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk.
- Add in cake mix, bananas, oil, and egg whites.
- Spoon half of banana mix into prepared pan.
- Sprinkle 1/4 c. walnuts proportionately over batter and drizzle fudge sauce over walnuts.
- Top with remaining banana mix, spread proportionately.
- Sprinkle remaining walnuts over top.
- Bake for 45 min or possibly till lightly browned.
- NOTES: Buttermilk Substitute: Combine 3 tsp.
- vinegar with sufficient lowfat milk to equal 1 c.; let stand 10 min.
