Puerto Rican-Style Black Bean Soup

  1. Stir 1 tablespoon seasoning blend in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat until fragrant and slightly darker in color, about 4 minutes.
  2. Transfer seasoning to processor.
  3. Add black beans, vegetable broth and olive oil to processor and puree until mixture is almost smooth, scraping down sides of bowl occasionally.
  4. Transfer puree to same saucepan.
  5. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally.
  6. Mix in lime juice.
  7. Season soup to taste with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve with lime wedges.
