Autumn Fruit Compote Recipe
- 1 lb Rhubarb - sliced, (450g)
- 2 x Pears - sliced
- 8 ounce Plums - stones removed and halved, (225g)
- 3 Tbsp. Water, (3 to 4)
- 2 ounce , (50-75g) caster, (2 to 3) sugar to taste
- 1/2 x Schwartz Vanilla Pod - split
- 1 x Schwartz Cinnamon stick - broken in 2
- Place all the fruit in a large saucepan with the water, sugar, Vanilla Pod and Cinnamon Stick.
- Simmer for 10 - 15 min till fruit is tender.
- Cold and remove the Vanilla Pod and Cinnamon Stick just before serving.
- Serve with cream, or possibly as the filling for a crumble or possibly pie.
