Jellied Fruit Ball (Cherry Blossom Viewing or Sports Day)

  1. Add 300 ml of water, powdered kanten and sugar in a heat resistant bowl and mix.
  2. Cover with cling film and microwave for 4-5 minutes.
  3. When cooled slightly, add lemon juice.
  4. Line small containers with cling film, drop the cut kiwi and cherries (stem removed) inside.
  5. (Make sure to cut cling film to be big enough to wrap the filling.)
  6. Pour the kanten mixture from Step 1 into Step 2, twist to close the top and secure with rubber bands.
  7. Drop in a bowl of cold water, and take out of the bowl when they are set.
  8. You can leave the rubber bands as they are, but they look cuter if you remove the rubber bands and replace with a twist tops like the ones in the profile photo.
  9. User "Kohanemi" said that if you freeze it to take in your bento lunch box, it will be nicely defrosted by lunch time and is also delicious.
  10. Such a good idea!
