Crumb Pie

  1. In a mixing bowl combine flour, salt, sugar, and spices.
  2. Cut in butter till mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In another, larger mixing bowl stir together the molasses, boiling water, and baking soda.
  5. Beat until mixture becomes foamy and rises.
  6. Stir crumb mixture into molasses mixture.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Pour into pie shell.
  9. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minute or until firm.
