California Roll with Hearts
- 2 sheets Rice paper (16 cm diameter)
- 150 grams Sushi rice
- 30 grams Salmon
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 Egg
- 1 slice Ham
- 1 slice Sliced cheese
- 1/4 Cucumber
- 2 tbsp or however much you'd like Mayonnaise
- Beat the egg and make a thin omelette in a frying pan.
- With a small heart shaped cutter, cut small hearts out of ham, cheese, and the omelette.
- Altogether, you should have 18 slices.
- Cut the cucumber vertically into thin strips and the avocado vertically into 4 pieces.
- With the edge of the cookie cutter, thinly cut the salmon into 2 pieces.
- Quickly wet the rice paper with water and then put it on top of some plastic wrap.
- Now take the ham, cheese, and omelette hearts and arrange them on top of the rice paper from Step 3 in a 3 x 3 square.
- In total, there should be nine pieces.
- Spread the sushi rice out starting at the bottom until it's about 1 cm thick on top of the heart shapes.
- Add the cucumber, avocado, salmon side by side in a straight line in the lower part of the rice.
- Finally, if you'd like, add on the trimmings from when you sliced the shapes on top.
- Coat the top with mayonnaise and then roll up from the bottom to the inside.
- Make one more roll in the exact same fashion.
- Let them set in the fridge a bit and then cut it from left to right.
