Rotini Skillet
- 1 box (16 Oz. Box) Whole Wheat Rotini Pasta
- 2 heads Broccoli
- 1 package (16 Oz. Package) Smoked Kielbasa Sausage
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- 3 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 cup Romano Cheese
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to boil for the pasta.
- While its heating up, cut the sausage into slices, then in halves.
- This helps stretch the sausage.
- Cut two heads of broccoli.
- Place some water in the bottom of a skillet to steam your broccoli.
- Place the lid on top and cook to your desired tenderness.
- (Not too soft or it falls apart in the pasta.)
- Your water should be boiling.
- Dump the box of pasta into the water.
- Cook according to package directions.
- Once the broccoli is cooked, place in a bowl and add your cut sausage to the skillet.
- Usually, these come pre-cooked, so youre just browning these pieces.
- Five minutes should do it.
- Once pasta is cooked, drain and return to the pot.
- Drizzle with olive oil and add the broccoli and sausage.
- Add garlic salt and Italian seasoning to taste.
- Toss gently and make sure its nicely coated with olive oil and seasoning.
- Once youre satisfied with the taste, add a good handful (or two) of the Romano cheese.
- Serve with nice crusty bread.
