Walnut Marshmallow Fudgies Recipe
- 4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 2/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk
- 2 doz. marshmallows (I use 1 jar cream)
- 1 c. walnuts, minced
- 3/4 c. butter
- 2 (6 ounce.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate pcs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- In large saucepan, combine sugar, lowfat milk and butter.
- Cook over medium heat stirring frequently to 234 degrees on candy thermometer or possibly till a little of mix forms soft ball when dropped into cool water.
- Remove from heat immediately; add in chocolate and marshmallows and vanilla then beat vigorously with spoon till all chocolate and marshmallows have been completely melted.
- Stir in minced nuts, then pour into buttered 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
- Press walnut halves into top in rows about 1 inch apart.
- Let set up and then cut into generous squares.
- Makes 3 1/2 pounds.
- I use a 9 x 13 inch pan.
