Assembled in 10 Minutes! Bakery-style Banana Bread

  1. Line your baking pan with kitchen parchment paper.
  2. Directions for how to line a pan properly can be found here.
  3. Soften the butter in the microwave (300 W at 35-40 seconds).
  4. It should take on a mayonnaise-like consistency.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180C (356 Fahrenheit).
  6. Add the sugar to the butter and mix.
  7. Add the egg and mix.
  8. Mash the bananas with a fork until they reach your desired consistency.
  9. Add the mashed banana to the Step 4 bowl and mix together.
  10. Sift together the flour and baking powder and add to the batter.
  11. Fold in until there is no flour streaks.
  12. Pour the batter into the pan.
  13. Drop the pan on the counter from a small height a few times to release any air bubbles trapped in the batter.
  14. Bake in the preheated 180C (356 Fahrenheit) oven for about 40 minutes.
  15. At about the 11-12 minute mark, take it out of the oven and, using a knife, make a slit down the center of the top.
  16. It's done!
