Old-Time Apple Pie

  1. Line 2, 9-inch pie pans with pastry.
  2. Sprinkle apples with a mixture of sugar, flour, salt, nutmeg and lemon rind.
  3. Spread in pie shell.
  4. Pour molasses and lemon juice over apples; dot with butter.
  5. Cover with remaining pastry.
  6. Trim, seal and flute edge.
  7. Bake 10 minutes at 450F then at 350F for 30-40 minutes.
