Poppy Seed Bread
- bread:
- 3 c flour
- 2 1/4 c sugar
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 1 1/2 t salt
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1 1/8 c oil
- 1 1/2 T poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 t almond extract
- 1 1/2 t butter extract (I usually leave this out and it tastes fine.)
- Mix all ingredients well.
- Bake at 350F (180C) for one hour.
- Pour glaze over loaves before they cool.
- Remove from pans after glaze hardens.
- Makes 2 loaves?
- You can also make these into muffins.
- Cook for about 30 minutes.
- You can leave off the glaze if you're feeling lazy.
