Pizza Loaf
- 1 box 16 Oz, Standard Bread Mix
- 1 package 16 Oz Breakfast Sausage
- 1 can 8 Oz Pizza Sauce
- 1 package 8 Oz Pepperoni Slices
- 1 package 8 Oz Mozzarella Cheese
- * Note: the long prep time figures in the dough rising time.
- Mix bread dough according to package.
- Knead and cover with a moist towel and allow to rise.
- Cook sausage over medium heat until browned, then drain grease and let cool.
- Place dough on a floured counter and roll into a rectangle about 10 x 16.
- Then cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Spread pizza sauce over dough leaving 1/2 inch around edges.
- Sprinkle sausage on top of the sauce, then put the pepperoni slices down.
- Cover with mozzarella.
- At this point it will look like a pizza ready for the oven.
- Start from one end and roll up the dough, tucking in edge as you go.
- Carefull seal end of loaf (you dont need egg wash to seal).
- Put the roll onto a large cooking sheet this can be tricky so you can roll it off end of the counter if its easier.
- Place in 350F oven for 40 minutes.
- Check after 30 minutes bake until loaf is a nice medium brown.
- Let cool 15 minutes.
- Serve warm or keep at room temperature.
- Ive never found a shelf life for this dish as it never lasted past the first day.
- Master this and it will be a request at every get together.
