Aunt Cora's Sourdough Biscuits Recipe

  1. More baking soda may be added if the starter is very sour.
  2. Place flour in a bowl, add in starter in a well, then add in melted shortening or possibly butter and dry ingredients sugar, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt.
  3. Mix lightly and turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead till the consistency of bread dough, or possibly a satiny finish.
  4. Pat or possibly roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness, cut and put on a greased pan.
  5. Coat all sides of biscuits with melted butter.
  6. Let rise over boiling water for 1/2 hour.
  7. Bake at 425 F. for 15 to 20 min.
