Amish Friendship Apple Nut Bread
- 1 cup friendship starter
- 3 large eggs
- 23 cup vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour, unbleached all-purpose
- 1 cup sugar granulated
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon ground
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup nuts chopped
- 2 medium apples chopped
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
- Grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, beat together the starter, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
- Add flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; blend.
- Fold in the nuts and apples; transfer batter to prepared loaf pans.
- Bake 50 minutes and remove from the oven.
- Allow loaves to cool in pans 10 minutes, then tip out onto a rack to finish cooling completely.
