Beef Burgundy Stew

  1. Brown beef, onion and garlic in oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat .
  2. Add consomme, wine and thyme .
  3. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Add potatoes and carrots, simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Dissolve flour in water.
  6. Add to stew, as stir until thickened.
