Beef Burgundy Stew
- 1 lb. stewing beef, cut into thin strips Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 onion, cut into thin strips Safeway 3 lb For $2.99 thru 02/09
- 1 can (10 oz) condensed beef consomme
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
- 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 3 carrots, peeled and sliced Target 2 lb For $3.00 thru 02/06
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. water
- Brown beef, onion and garlic in oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat .
- Add consomme, wine and thyme .
- Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
- Add potatoes and carrots, simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Dissolve flour in water.
- Add to stew, as stir until thickened.
