Champagne Americana

  1. Mix bourbon, sugar and bitters in glass measuring cup.
  2. Let stand until sugar begins to dissolve, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.
  3. Fill eight 8-ounce wineglasses with ice cubes.
  4. Add 1 lemon peel strip to each glass.
  5. Divide bourbon mixture among wineglasses.
  6. Fill glasses with Champagne and serve.
