Kahlua Apple Pie

  1. Make pie crust.
  2. Measure 13 cup flour and blend into a paste with water.
  3. Combine remaining flour, sugar and salt.
  4. Cut in shortening.
  5. Turn in the flour paste and form into a dough.
  6. Roll out the bottom crust.
  7. Place in 9 inch pie plate.
  8. Spread with melted butter.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar and pecans.
  10. Combine apples, Kahlua, brown sugar and flour.
  11. Turn into pie shell.
  12. Dot with butter.
  13. Roll out remaining crust.
  14. Cut into strips.
  15. Arrange in lattice over apples.
  16. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
  17. Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes.
  18. Lower heat to 350F (180C).
  19. Continue to bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden and tender.
  20. Cool slightly.
  21. Serve warm for best flavor.
