Shipwreck Stew Recipe
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 c. minced onion
- 3 c. peeled, cubed potatoes
- 3 med. carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1 c. minced celery
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
- 1 (9 ounce.) pkg. frzn cut green beans, defrosted
- 1 (15 ounce.) can kidney beans, rinsed and liquid removed
- 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. uncooked long-grain rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd pepper
- 1 c. water
- In a skillet, brown beef with onion over medium heat.
- Drain fat.
- In a 3 qt casserole, combine beef mix with all other ingredients.
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or possibly till rice and potatoes are tender.
- Yield: 8 to 10 servings.
