Chocolate-Glazed Peppermint Cookies
- 1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough, Pillsbury, well chilled
- 3 tablespoons peppermint candies, the hard candies, finely crushed
- 12 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 12 teaspoons shortening
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut cookie dough into 1/4-inch slices.
- Place slices 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon peppermint candy in center of each slice.
- Bake for 7 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown.
- Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
- Cool 15 minutes or until completely cooled.
- In small saucepan, melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies.
- Let stand until set.
