Chocolate Torte With Hazelnut Sauce

  1. Heat oven to 400F.
  2. Grease bottom and sides of 8 or 9-inch springform pan; dust with powdered sugar.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Place chocolate chips and 1/2 cup butter in 2-quart saucepan.
  5. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 4-5 minutes or until chocolate chips are melted.
  6. Stir in flour, sugar and vanilla.
  7. Stir in eggs until well mixed.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  9. Bake 22-28 minutes or until cake begins to pull away from sides of pan.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/4 cup butter in 1-quart saucepan.
  12. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil.
  13. Boil 1 minute.
  14. Remove from heat; stir in hazelnuts and vanilla.
  15. Cut cake into wedges; top with sauce and whipped cream, if desired.
  16. *Substitute Land O Lakes Salted Butter.
