Caramelized Onions in Beer.

  1. slice onions thin, about 1/4" thick
  2. in a nonstick pan over med - high heat melt butter & oil, stir in salt, pepper & brown sugar
  3. add onions, stir often cooking for 6 to 8 minutes
  4. turn heat down med - low cook 45 minutes more, stirring occasionally til onions are fully cooked, caramel colour and liquid is absorbed
  5. remove from heat stir in beer a tablespoon at a time, careful not to make too much liquid in onions

cooking onions, beer of your choice, vegetable oil, butter, salt, pepper, brown sugar
