Creamless Creamed Onions Recipe
- 2 lbs. sm. white onions
- 1 packet Butter Buds
- 1 1/2 c. skim lowfat milk
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 tbsp. flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cook unpeeled whole onions in salted water with cloves till tender, about 25 min.
- Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients and mix till smooth.
- Drain onions well and throw away cloves.
- Trim root ends and slip off skins.
- Heat sauce, stirring constantly till thickened.
- Add in cooked onions and heat.
- Yield: 8-10 servings - 73 calories - 0 mg. of cholesterol.
