Chicken & Dumplings

  1. Fill large pot with 4 c water & bring to a boil.
  2. Add chicken & bullion.
  3. Return to boil.
  4. Add soup & broth.
  5. In mixing bowl, combine flour & shortening.
  6. Mix well with pastry blender then add 3/4 c of broth mixture from pot.
  7. Mix until dough is firm.
  8. On waxed paper sprinkled with flour, roll dough to 1/4"-1/2" thick.
  9. Cut into 1" wide strips.
  10. Add dough to broth mixture and reduce heat.
  11. Add salt to taste.
  12. Simmer 30 minutes.
