Beer Batter Fish Recipe
- 2 pound fish fillets
- 1 (12 ounce.) can of beer (beat if flat)
- 1 egg
- 2 c. "Bisquick"
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 pound crushed crackers (use rolling pin)
- Put all ingredients in medium size bowl (except fish).
- Mix completely till batter is like a thin pancake batter.
- Cut fillets of larger fish into strips about 1/2 inch thick.
- Put fish in batter for about 15 min.
- While fish are soaking, put crackers (crushed) in 9 inch cake pan and heat oil in deep fryer or possibly deep skillet to 375 degrees.
- Take fish out of batter one piece at a time allowing excess batter to drip off.
- Coat fish with cracker crumbs.
- When you have sufficient coated, put in warm oil (be sure oil is 375 degrees).
- Cook in oil till golden (about 2 to 3 min).
- When fish are done put in bowl lined with a few paper towels.
- Serve warm with lemon and tartar sauce.
