Buckwheat Groats
- 2 cups Buckwheat Groats, Soaked In Water
- 1 Tablespoon Honey Or Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 1 pinch Sea Salt
- Note: There are 2 cooking times and methods, depending on your time needs.
- I prefer the lower temperature with longer time.
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees F or to 300 degrees F for less time.
- Soak buckwheat groats in a large bowl of water for at least 1 hour.
- Rinse and drain, then place in a clean, large bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir to fully cover the groats.
- Spread groats on to a large cooking sheet (you can spread directly onto the sheet or line with parchment paper).
- Make sure they are in a single layer so they cook evenly.
- Place in your oven and bake.
- If you have the temperature at 150 degrees F, bake for 1 hour.
- If your temperature is higher, at 300 degrees F, bake for about 1520 minutes.
- You dont want your groats to burn or get to crunchy, as they will be hard as rocks and not easy to eat.
- When they are baked, allow to cool and transfer to a bowl to eat or to a jar to store them.
- I use a Mason jar and keep them in the fridge.
- They will stay for 12 weeks in the refrigerator.
